Summer Reading Club
Choose your own adventure at the Goldfields Libraries this summer
Goldfields Libraries invite children and families to participate in the Summer Reading Club from Monday 15 December 2014 to Friday 30 January 2015.
This year, the Summer Reading Club is all about adventure! Dodging danger, outwitting archnemeses and journeying beyond your wildest imagination are at the heart of local Summer Reading Club programming.
There are lots of activities online and in your local library with the opportunity to win great prizes. Children can join in the fun at any one of the Goldfields Libraries or online at www.summerreadingclub.org.au.
Highlights of the Summer Reading Club include:
• Summer Reading Club kits for each child joining
• Special incentives along the way for Club members, including: wristbands, tattoos and key rings
• The opportunity to enter Goldfields Libraries Lucky Prize Draw to win an iPod Touch, Awesome Adventure packs, and book vouchers
• Adventurous activities and an invitation to a Summer Reading Club Wrap / awards Party featuring kid’s punk rocker band ‘The Itchy Scabs’
The Summer Reading Club is supported by the Goldfields Libraries Friends of the Library groups who have kindly provided prizes and incentives for the participants.
The Summer Reading Club is a free online and in-library holiday program, run in partnership with the State Library of Queensland and the Australian Library and Information Association. The program is delivered nationally. Last year 34, 576 Australian children registered for the Summer Reading Club and collectively read more than 230,000 books. Let’s beat this impressive record this year!
