The Goldfields Libraries services the Council areas of Greater Bendigo, Mount Alexander, Macedon Ranges and Loddon.  We serve a population of almost 180,000 people with the eLibrary, 9 libraries, and 8 library agencies. Manager Engagement and Operations

This is a six-month fixed term position commencing in June 2019.  This role is fulltime (35 hours per week) Band 7 ($89,000 - $99,000 per annum), however, we will consider applicants interested in a full-time, part-time or job share role. 

Based in Bendigo this role will support operations at our nine libraries across Central Victoria and improve the way we engage with our communities.  The successful candidate will be:

  • Enthusiastic about the role of contemporary libraries
  • An experienced practitioner of community engagement, and
  • Able to support managers in delivering consistent, high quality library services.

Reporting to the CEO the Manager Engagement and Operations will plan, develop and implement strategies and policies to engage with our communities and support library service delivery.  The position will: 

  • Oversee the delivery of library services from our libraries at Bendigo, Kangaroo Flat, Eaglehawk, Castlemaine, Romsey, Woodend, Gisborne, and Kyneton
  • Utilise community engagement techniques to ensure all sectors of our communities have influence in development of both our strategic planning and service delivery. 

The role is available due to an employee intending to take parental leave. The employee has the right to return to their pre-parental leave position in certain circumstances, which means that the fixed term appointment may end earlier than the date specified.
