RBdigital content is moving to Libby  

From Saturday 27 February, all RBDigital content will be moving across to the new, award-winning Libby app.

You will still be able to browse, borrow and enjoy all your favourite eBooks and AudioBooks, and magazines will continue to be accessible via RBdigital until they are transitioned across later in the year (we will let you know when a date is set).

RBdigital will be inaccessible from midnight on Friday 26 February as all content is moved across. The move is expected to take a few hours, but it may take up to 24 hours for the catalogue to fully populate in Libby.

If you have any current loans over this period, you will still be able to access them via the RBdigital app until your loan expires.

Holds will not be moved across. You will need to place your holds again in the Libby app, but you can transfer your transaction history across to Libby for reference.

Unfortunately, Libby is not available for Kindle.

How do I use Libby?

All you need to get started with Libby is your library card number and PIN. The Libby app is easy to use and will guide you through the setup process and get you connected in just a few minutes. You can also ask library staff for assistance, or view the video above.

Why is the change happening?

RBdigital was acquired by OverDrive. OverDrive is the leading digital reading platform for libraries and schools worldwide and are the creators of the Libby app.

When is the transition happening?

The transition will begin at midnight on Friday 26 February and should take a few hours, although it may take up to 24 hours to fully populate the catalogue in Libby.

What if I have a current loan in RBdigital?

Any current items on loan will still be available via RBdigital until your loan period ends, so you can read and listen without disruption.

What will happen to my holds?

Holds will not be moved across to Libby. You will need to place your holds again in the Libby app, but you can transfer your transaction history across to Libby for reference.

To transfer your Transaction History:

  1. Log into your account via the RBdigital website: https://goldfields.rbdigitalglobal.com/ (please note: this can only be done via the website, not the app)
  2. Click the menu icon in the top left-hand corner (3 horizontal lines)
  3. Go to My Account > Profiles
  4. Click on Export My Transaction History

Will magazines be moved across to Libby?

Magazine titles will not be moved across to Libby at this stage. They will continue to be accessible via RBdigital until Friday 30 April. We will keep you updated on this change as we find out more.
