Build your online skills and confidence with Social Seniors
Goldfields Libraries, in collaboration with Telstra and Public Libraries Victoria Network, are pleased to offer a new series of social media workshops designed for people over the age of 60. Social Seniors is a series of free workshops designed around using technology to socialise and make connections with others.
Across three workshops, participants will be introduced to a range of simple tools to create short videos using their tablet or smartphone, and will be supported to share these digital stories with others.
In a supportive, small-group environment participants will learn how to:
- Build a social media profile
- Keep communications and data private and secure
- Find and connect with community groups, clubs, social events and activities
- Create short videos to share with friends and family
The Social Seniors program has been designed for participants to bring along their own devices with library staff happily answering any questions that arise during the program.
