Michelle Scott-Tucker shines a light on Australia’s history

Tuesday 3 April 2018

Romsey, Woodend and Castlemaine Libraries will be welcoming first-time author and biographer Michelle Scott-Tucker in April.

In the midst of juggling a young family, a demanding day job and a blog, Michelle has written her first novel, Elizabeth Macarthur: A Life at the edge of the World, a stunning achievement of storytelling and scholarship.

Written over a decade, Elizabeth Macarthur is a ground breaking portrait of an ordinary English country woman who went on to become one of Australia’s most significant historical figures. Michelle will shine a light on this often overlooked aspect of Australia’s history.

“Michelle spent a great deal of time researching her book, and it will be wonderful to listen to some of the stories she has uncovered along the way,” said Tammy Higgs, Goldfields Libraries Programs and Events Manager.

Michelle will speak at Romsey Library on Wednesday 18 April at 2pm, at Woodend Library on Wednesday 18 April at 5pm and at Castlemaine Library on Thursday 19 April at 5.30pm.

Book sales and signings will follow each event.

All sessions are free and bookings are required via www.goldfieldslibraries.com
