Local writing award calls for entries

Calling all writers!
Goldfields Libraries and Eaglehawk Festivals Inc. are calling for entries from writers all over Australia for the annual Mulga Bill Writing Award.
Writers are encouraged to take inspiration from the theme ‘mystical waters’ and submit a poem or short story. Writers of all skill levels are encouraged to apply, with prizes awarded to the best two in each category.
Short Story (up to 2000 words)
$500 first prize, $150 second prize.
Poetry (up to 25 lines)
$200 first prize, $50 second prize.
Entries close Friday 23 February 2024, with winners to be announced at the Eaglehawk Dahlia and Arts Festival.
