Hop into Goldfields Libraries for Some School Holiday Fun!
Kids are invited to hop into their local library these school holidays to join in the fun! There are loads of free activities to keep 4-13 year olds occupied.
The library is heading to the Bendigo Easter Festival in Rosalind Park from Good Friday to Easter Sunday for the Goldfields Library Storytelling Tree. A range of fun and free literacy based activities will be on offer including Storytellers, Hot Dog Book Making, badge making, library bag decorating and adorning the library dragon with colourful scales.
A feature event is Kid’s Party Confidential, a fast-paced, wickedly funny comedy show starring Sydney comedian Sean Murphy! Catch Sean at Bendigo and Gisborne Libraries, and at Inglewood Community Centre on Wednesday 30 March.
The fabulous Robin will present an interactive Story Theatre exploring Gillian Rubenstein’s hilarious tale ‘Sharon Keep Your Hair On’ at Bendigo, Castlemaine, Kyneton and Woodend Libraries.
Lisa Mills, ACMI and Art Play film-maker, will demonstrate how to turn drawings into mini-films in her Animation Play sessions at Castlemaine Library.
Kids are encouraged to explore science through quirky experiments in the Curious and Curiouser sessions running at Bendigo, Eaglehawk, Woodend and Romsey Libraries.
Learn the art of digital bookmaking on an iPad in the WePublish sessions at Bendigo, Eaglehawk, Kangaroo Flat, Kyneton and Romsey.
Drop in for some active WII U gaming fun at Kangaroo Flat and Kyneton Libraries throughout the holidays.
“We’re pleased to be able to offer kids in the region a varied range of activities to try these holidays,” said Tammy Higgs, Goldfields Libraries Programs and Events Coordinator.
“Children can come and explore science, technology, art and drama throughout the holidays, plus have a good laugh at the Kid’s Party Confidential comedy event.”
