Gisborne Library closure for upgrade works
Gisborne Library will be closed for public safety reasons for two and a half days from Thursday 1 March to Saturday 3 March inclusive for major demolition works.
The works are part of the planned $500,000 upgrade to Gisborne Library funded by the Victorian Government, Macedon Ranges Shire Council and Goldfields Library Corporation.
The project is expected to take about four months and will require occasional brief closures of the library. The next scheduled closure will be in early April. You can sign up for email updates on the project via gisborne@ncgrl.vic.gov.au
The refurbishment project will ensure the library will meet the current and future needs of Gisborne’s growing population. The upgrades will create much-needed space through the removal of internal walls, the addition of a rear courtyard and a reorganisation of the interior. New carpet will also be laid and additional charging points for mobile devices installed. Other improvements include painting of the front façade as well as roofing and lighting upgrades.
