Alice Pung Writers Workshop and Author Talk at Bendigo Library

Melbourne writer Alice Pung will visit Bendigo in February to present a free writing workshop and an author talk about her latest novel ‘Laurinda’.

Alice Pung is a lawyer, teacher and bestselling author. Her autobiography Unpolished Gem and following memoir,Her Fathers Daughter, were about growing up Asian in Australia. Both were shortlisted in the Victorian and NSW Premiers’ Literary awards in 2006 and 2011 and both won numerous awards.

Adult Programs Coordinator at the Bendigo Library, Sue Mooney says many people will have read Alice’s work.

“Alice has lectured at universities and schools around Australia and overseas, and taught writing workshops to people of all ages.

“She has also appeared at writers festival across the country including the Bendigo Writers Festival in 2013.” Ms Mooney says.

Aspiring writers and fans of Alice Pung’s work are invited to join Alice on Monday 2 February for an afternoon writing workshop between 2-4pm and an evening authors talk at 6pm about her recently launched book for young adults entitled "Laurinda" – about a private girl's school.

A book signing and refreshments will follow the author’s talk.
