Goldfields Libraries is delighted with the tremendous response to its inaugural Mindfulness Colouring Competition held in January. A range of colourful, high quality entries was submitted by a variety of age groups.

The competition was split into three categories, with two winners in each plus a Regional Champion. Results were as follows:

Goldfields Libraries will join forces with Loddon Campaspe Multicultural Services to offer a vibrant range of multicultural themed events as part of the 2016 Bendigo Festival of Cultures, to be held during Cultural Diversity Week from Saturday 12 – Sunday 20 March.

The fabulous 50s will come to life at Goldfields Libraries this Autumn with the new seasonal program just launched. More than 100 fun, free events for adults and children will be rolled out over the season.

Bendigo and Castlemaine Libraries are excited to welcome ‘The Dressmaker’ author Rosalie Ham and movie producer Sue Maslin to the Goldfields Region on Thursday 28 April.

Rosalie and Sue will discuss the inspiration, characters, cast, costumes and landscapes that brought the book to life on page and screen. What has life been like for them since the film’s outstanding success?

With the new school year underway, three of Bendigo’s most popular destinations have re-launched their suite of free and low cost children’s programs. Storytimes, Gallery Giggles and Cushion Concerts all translate to lots of fun activities in reading, music and art for local children.

Forget Valentine's Day, 14 February is now known as Library Lovers Day! Library Lovers Day is all about celebrating our local libraries and the important role they play in our community.

Leading up to Library Lovers Day, Goldfields Libraries invited the community to vote for their favourite book of all time during the month of January in its Dearly Beloved Reads program.

The Chinese New Year of the Monkey will go off with a bang at Bendigo Library next Monday 8 February!

In classic Bendigo style, the Central Victorian Lion Team and Fu Wa Team will delight with a noisy and spectacular traditional welcome inside the library. The performance is from 5.30-6pm and is not to be missed!

Romance novel lovers are in for a treat with two renowned Australian authors featuring in this year’s Library Lovers Day celebrations at Goldfields Libraries.

Bendigo Library will soon be open until 3pm on Saturdays in response to public demand! The new hours will take effect on Monday 1 February, and fulfil a long standing request from the community.

Goldfields Library Corporation CEO, Chris Kelly, said that the longer Saturday hours at Bendigo Library make sense as it is the largest library service in the region.
