The Summer Read is on at Goldfields Libraries and with the warm weather already here, it’s time to sit back, relax and lose yourself in a great Victorian book.

The Summer Read is a program of the State Library of Victoria and Public Libraries Network Victoria that celebrates the diversity of Victorian writing and encourages Victorians to take time out with a good read.

Bendigo Library will welcome Dawne Chorus, bird caller extraordinaire, for her stunning ‘Dawne at Dusk’ performance this Friday evening. Dawne’s repertoire of Australian bird calls, stories and avian information promises to delight all ages.

Bendigo Library is delighted to present an evening with Michael Leunig to celebrate the release his new book, ‘The Wayward Leunig: Cartoons That Wandered Off’. This special event will be held on Friday 13 November at The Capital.

Leunig will spend an hour in conversation with Dr Susan Gillett, Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at La Trobe University in Bendigo.

Women Of The War is a collection of photographs and stories of women who worked during the war, paying tribute to all women who served their nation both at home and abroad.
