About the mural:
Thanks to generous funding from Healthy Heart of Victoria, we have engaged Reece Hendy from Nacho Station to oversee the mural development. The mural will transform the currently blank wall of the library which faces the Bendigo Creek Trail.
By transforming the wall, the library will become more visible to those using the Bendigo Creek Trail and encourage people to be more active by riding or walking to the library.
"The Creek Trail is already a beautiful location to ride and walk, the new artwork along this trail will lift the profile of the Library and its connection to the Trail,” says Reece. “Along with the Mural there will be a series of social and physical activities aimed at youth and families."
Reece has engaged two artists, Rachel Doller and Wes Franklin to create the mural.
About the artists:
Rachel Doller
Rachel is a Tatura-based artist who uses acrylic paint, cut paper, oil pastel and ink to create bold and graphic works with dynamic and engaging colour combinations.
Wes Franklin
Wes is a Bendigo-based graphic designerd and (slightly obsessed) lettering artist. You'll find hand-drawn typography in all his works which range from branding and private commissions to murals.
