How to place a reservation

The Goldfields Libraries collection contains more than 280,000 items. This includes books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, magazines and a range of digital options. Reservations can be made online or over the phone and collected from any of our library locations.

Placing a reservation online is simple. Follow the instructions below, or watch the video. 

How to reserve a book, DCD, CD or audiobook

Visit the online catalogue using the navigation bar above, or via a catalogue computer in the library.

1. Search for the author or title in the search bar.
2. Choose the item you would like by clicking on the title name.
3. Click the green Place Reservation button displayed on the right-hand side of the screen.
4. Log in using your library card number and PIN. (Contact us if you need help with your PIN)
5. Select the location from which you would like to collect the item(s).
6. To place the reservation, click the Continue button. If you do not wish to place the reservation, click the Cancel button.

You will be notified by SMS or email once the item(s) arrives. It will be held for 10 days.

Reservations can also be placed using the Spydus App.

How to reserve a magazine

Visit the online catalogue using the navigation bar above, or via a catalogue computer in the library.

1. Search for the magazine title in the search bar.
2. Refine the results by selecting Magazines from the drop-down menu next to the search bar.
3. Choose the item(s) you would like by clicking on the title name.
4. Scroll to the bottom of the page to Issues for this title and select Show All. Issues will be shown in date order.
5. Choose the issue(s) you would like by clicking on the title name.
6. Click the green Place Reservation button displayed on the right-hand side of the screen.
7. Log in using your library card number and PIN.  (Contact us if you need help with your PIN)
8. Select the location from which you would like to collect the item(s).
9. To place the reservation, click the Continue button. If you do not wish to place the reservation, click the Cancel button.
