New year, new Storytime sessions

Monday 29 January 2018

The new Storytime year is about to begin! Children and their parents or carers are invited to join in the fun of Storytime sessions at Inglewood, Boort and Elmore Library Agencies and Wedderburn and Serpentine Playgroups. Enjoy rhymes, stories and songs presented by a skilled library staff member, tailored for young children up to the age of 5.

Attending Storytime is the perfect way to introduce little ones to the concepts of books, reading and libraries. In each fun-filled session they can experience early reading and rhymes which are vital to healthy literacy development and have a huge impact on children's language skills and school readiness.

Storytime sessions are great for socialisation too – for both kids and adults! Children, parents and carers can meet and connect with other families from their local community who have children of a similar age. Children may well meet their future school friends at a Storytime session!

Storytime sessions begin the week of 5 February and run as follows:

Inglewood - Tuesday 6 February, 10.30-11am (fortnightly)
Wedderburn - Tuesdays 6 February and 1 May, 10.30-11am (at Wedderburn College)

Boort - Thursday 8 February, 10.30-11am (fortnightly)
Elmore - Friday 9 February, 11.30am-12pm (fortnightly)

Storytime is free and no bookings are required – families can attend as many sessions as they like, and can stay for as long or as little as they like!
